Why can't I lose weight when I exercise and eat right?
The first thing you need to do is get over LOSING weight. We don’t want to lose ANYTHING. Think about it…what happens when you lose something? We do everything we can to find it again and that’s exactly what your subconscious is doing when you say or think you want to LOSE weight or fat. You step on the scale and exclaim excitedly that you lost 5 pounds, then guess what, your mind begins to look for the lost 5 pounds. We must change our language and intention to RELEASING weight or think of it as unwanted/unneeded weight or fat. That way we are sending a signal to our subconscious brain that it’s okay to just LET IT GO. We don’t need you, we are perfectly safe and happy without you. It’s time to melt away. If you are exercising and eating right the reason you have extra weight or fat is because you’re mind believes you need it to be safe and happy.
We must always nurture out body with good thoughts. When you criticize your fat thighs or flabby stomach you are only making it worse by focusing on a negative aspect and bringing drama to it. NOTHING ever changes or gets better with complaining or negativity. We must love our bodies right now the way they are with every imperfection. The first thing we have to start doing is telling our body we love it out loud “I love you body!” Our bodies are truly amazing vessels for our infinite spirits. They are what make it possible for us to have this human experience that we need to progress and become gods and goddesses ourselves. Which of your body parts is the one you complain about the most? Now sit down and write a love letter to that body part. When you love your body, your body loves you back! You will feel lighter and have more energy, just try it and see! You made up the stories you are telling yourself, you have the power to change your mind about your body. You become a walking affirmation of “I am lean, healthy and strong!” Those are the new words that need to run through your mind whenever the negative ones creep up.
Stress and anxiety are big time things that keep stubborn weight and fat stuck to our body! When we are stressed our body makes a hormone called cortisol and scientific research has shown that it increase our appetite and well as RAPID weight gain. Stress and cortisol are, unfortunately, part of our everyday life anymore, so it’s very important to find ways that work for you to combat it. I like to relate this to a “stress bucket” we all have one and they are sized according to how much stress we can handle. Some people have big stress buckets and some are very small. However big or small it is it must be emptied every day! There are many ways to empty our buckets like, deep breathing, meditation, movement/exercise, hobbies, stretching, tapping, being in nature, positive affirmations and so on. The ways we personally empty our buckets will be different for everyone and we must find what works best for us.
There are 2 things that everyone should be doing to empty those buckets. One is SLEEP, getting enough sleep and getting nourishing sleep. This is when our buckets are emptied out. It’s very important to get the sleep we require and the magic time, when we release and restore the most is from 10:00pm - 12:00am. The second thing is to get MAGNESIUM in your system. Just about every human on the planet is magnesium deficient. I suggest you find a good wholesome natural supplement to start right away. Foods with magnesium include, nuts and seeds, legumes, quinoa, spinach, avocados, and dark chocolate. The best time to take magnesium is at night right before you go to bed, because it helps the body to relax.
When I had my fourth child I weighed 190 pounds and I’m only 5’3”, so I was very overweight. Through exercise and eating right I was able to release 30 of those pounds in about a year. After that I couldn’t loose any more weight for years, I weighed 160 pounds for years. No matter what cleanse, diet, or exercise I did I would get down a little bit, but it would come right back. 20 years later I signed up for a coaching program, to help with some money trauma I had experienced. As I was working through my limiting beliefs and changing the way I was thinking my body dropped 20 pounds just like that! In 4 months! I wasn’t even trying! How did 20 pounds just melt off my body? I began to think and feel healthy inside and out. I got out of a suffering state and into a beautiful state. I now having coping mechanisms and tools to combat the stress and negativity around me and that has made all the difference in all areas of my life!
Let’s recap what we can do to release those stubborn pounds that won’t go no matter how we eat or exercise.
Change the language you are using to ensure your subconscious that it’s okay to let the unwanted fat melt away.
Tell your body “I love you body” and write a love note to the part that you have criticized the most in the past. Think and say “I am lean, healthy, and strong” often.
Find the best way for you to empty your stress bucket, and do it every day. Also sleep during the magic hours of 10:00 - 12:00 and get that magnesium in your body.
